With a yesod from the Ari Hakadosh, many of the tzadikim answer some fundemental questions on the parsha of the meraglim. We proposed 3 explanations to the connection between Yosef calling the shvatim "meraglim". The Sfas Emes teaches that Yosef was not accusing the brothers, rather he was identifying their spiritual mission. Rebbe Nosson teaches that the desire for wealth is destructive. To combat it one must connect themselves to true sources of holiness like a tzaddik or Eretz Yisrael. Disconnecting from this brings poverty and famine. Yosef saw that his brothers had foreshadowed the mistake of the meraglim of Moshe; they had disgraced Eretz Yisrael - they had disgraced the Tzaddik. The Ari Hakadosh taught that the souls of the shevatim themselves were sent with the meraglim of Moshe, this is what Yosef was revealing.
