Rabbi Rosensweig occupies the Nathan and Perel Schupf Chair in Talmud at RIETS. He is a 1980 graduate of Yeshiva College, and earned an M.A. and a Ph.D. from the Bernard Revel Graduate School. After receiving semicha from RIETS, Rabbi Rosensweig was among the first group to complete the intensive post-graduate studies in RIETS' Caroline and Joseph S. Gruss Kollel Elyon.

Rabbi Rosensweig was appointed a Rosh Yeshiva, a member of the RIETS faculty, in 1985. He has written extensively, contributing to numerous journals of Torah learning.

Rabbi Rosensweig received his semikha (rabbinic ordination) fromYeshiva University’s affiliated Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary (RIETS) and was a distinguished fellow of its post-semikha institute, the Gruss Kollel Elyon. He received his undergraduate degree from Yeshiva College and earned his Ph.D. in medieval Jewish history from the University’s Bernard Revel Graduate School while studying under Professor Haym Soloveitchik. He was also a student of Rav Aharon Lichtenstein, renowned Talmudic scholar and rosh yeshiva at Yeshivat Har Etzion and director of RIETS’ Joseph and Caroline Gruss Institute in Jerusalem.

In 1985, Rabbi Rosensweig was appointed rosh yeshiva in the Yeshiva Program/Mazer School of Talmudic Studies, one of four undergraduate Jewish studies divisions for men at Yeshiva University. At the time, he was RIETS’ youngest rosh yeshiva. In 1997, Rabbi Rosensweig was appointed rosh kollel (Dean) of the prestigious Israel Henry Beren Institute for Higher Talmudic Studies (Ha-Machon ha-Gavohah le’Talmud) at RIETS.
