Description

1. Why do we keep the second day of Shavuot if we know that it is always the 50th day from Pesach? 2. Why do we celebrate the 6th of Sivan and not the 7th if in the desert they got the Torah on the 7th? 3. Why does it matter that Shavuot was on Shabbat? We celebrate the 6th as the day of Matan Torah since it was when Hashem was ready to give it. We celebrate on the 7th as the day of Kabbalat Hatorah but it is hidden since it is really every day of our lives. (Kedushat Halevi, Rama Mpano, Rav Dessler) Why did Moshe delay a day? Zohar says that the second day represents the hidden secrets of Torah, which we would not have been zoche to on the first day, which represents more revealed aspects of Torah. (Based on Rav Tzadok, Meshech Chachma)
