Description

This shiur discusses numerous examples in Parshas Shoftim of mitzvos that speak to the need for one to accept authority upon himself. Without a clear sense of authority, it is clear that society as a whole could not function and the Torah would not be properly observed. Examples of this include the appointing of the Sanhedrin, the Zaken Mamrei, the role of a king, and the need to adhere to mitzvos m'rabanan.
