Part of MES Week 2011, The Yeshiva University Student Medical Ethics Society hosted a panel discussion regarding the legal and halachic paradox of the Hippocratic oath and the doctor's role in the death penalty with a focus on lethal injection. Dr. Deborah W. Denno, Arthur A. McGivney Professor of Law at Fordham University School of Law presents the legal issues confronting physicians from the American legal perspective. Then, Rabbi Dr. Aaron Glatt, Assistant Rabbi at Congregation Anshei Chesed (South Shore) in Hewlett , NY and Assistant to the Rabbi at the Young Israel of Woodmere President / Chief Executive Officer of New Island Hospital, presents the historic and modern halachic perspective of the death penalty.

<p>I'm not sure if the title was a mistake but R' Glatt's part of the shiur is mostly about the halachic perspective about the death penalty. One minute of the Q&A is about executing the hippocratic oath.</p>
